What is Young Philanthropy?
Young Philanthropy mission is to make a positive and lasting impact on society by empowering a new generation to make a difference to the causes they care about. YP is a registered charity and social enterprise, meaning that our ambition is to become financially sustainable, earning the majority of our income from partnered employers rather than relying on grants. Our award-winning initiative is the Young Philanthropy Syndicate.
What is a Young Philanthropy Syndicate?
The Syndicate platform enables a group of young professionals to join together and invest their money, time and skills in a niche charity project, with matched funding and mentoring support of an experienced philanthropist or senior leader within their organisation.
Setting up a Syndicate complements an organisation’s corporate and social responsibility strategy by helping young professionals to effectively utilise opportunities such as payroll giving, matched-funding schemes and volunteering days.
Young Philanthropy Syndicates are up and running in major employers across the UK; including Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, EY, Accenture, Allen & Overy, Coutts, Hoares Bank, the Civil Service, amongst others.
A great deal of research has been conducted into “Generation Y”, those born between the early 1980s and early 2000s. YP’s expertise is in translating this research and insight into a practical model that engages, motivates and inspires under 35s. We enable young professionals to give in a more meaningful and impactful way, developing their skills and leadership potential, with their employers are at the heart of this experience.
